Cost Of Copying Medical Records I Have To Pay $70 To See Medical Records?

I have to pay $70 to see medical records? - cost of copying medical records

I saw a psychiatrist who was about 6 times for ADHD and anxiety disorders (Stalker, the father had cancer, etc.)

I called the office and asked me to get a copy of my records. The receptionist told me to be allowed it to get a copy. Could I make an appointment with your doctor to discuss my case with him. The event costs $ 70.

I looked at the HIPAA and said he was not allowed to charge for records, copy only a small fee. In addition, they said that they have the right to receive them both at his office and a copy.

What should I tell my rights? I do not want to anger and to write negative things.

Can I simply refuse to pay the bill?

The HIPAA laws are the same for the psychiatric records, laws, who have seen "most doctors".

A psychiatrist is a doctor. You need to HIPAA and other physician. You can not load you will be $ 70 for medical records. Ask the employee's supervisor and politely repeat your request to the supervisor. When the supervisor told the same shit, politely tell you that the burden to their medical records a violation of HIPAA and is the Freedom of Information Act and the Health and Human Services, contact the Office of Civil Rights to file a complaint against the doctor.

Call your local womans abused group (usually) to find information on the social welfare.

Tell them that you need to call someone and get this idiot order.

HIPPA is a federal law. The violation is a crime.

If you have a problem, continue with him, call the local television station and ask them for you ....... into the camera!
